About The Apprentice Hub
The Apprentice Hub is the place apprentices Google when they are confused. Starting a trade in Australia comes with a hundred questions nobody answers properly: what you should get paid, what tools to buy first, how TAFE actually works, what to do when something on site does not feel right. The official answers are scattered across government sites written in language nobody talks in, and the unofficial answers are whatever someone reckons in a Facebook comment. We sit in the middle: plain English, straight answers, and links to the official source so you can check everything yourself.
The site covers 15 trades, from electrical and plumbing through to hairdressing and commercial cookery, with guides on getting in, what the work is really like, courses and costs, tools and gear, and your pay and rights as an apprentice.
How we keep it honest
- •Facts come from official sources: Fair Work, training.gov.au, Jobs and Skills Australia, state training authorities and regulators. Every guide links its sources so you can verify them.
- •Figures that change over time are date stamped, and where a number moves every year (like apprentice pay rates) we point you to the live official calculator instead of printing a figure that will go stale.
- •Nothing here is legal or financial advice. Pay and rights guides carry that warning and point to Fair Work and the relevant regulator for your situation.
- •We are honest about downsides. Every trade has them, and pretending otherwise helps nobody pick the right one.
Who runs it
The Apprentice Hub is an independent Australian site built and run by Onara Studios. It is not owned by a training provider, a recruiter or a tool brand, and nobody pays to be recommended in our guides. You can read how the site funds itself on our disclosure page, or get in touch via the contact page.
